Honoring Those Among Us – A Tribute to Brother Jesse C. House

  • October 7, 2017 – Bro. Carl Haithcox, Sr.

What an incredible affair last Saturday, honoring retired African-American Special Agents and Special Agents in charge. The primary honoree was one of my closest friends and Fraternity Brother, Jesse House.

Jesse began working in the New York FBI Office as grade 2 clerk January 30, 1956. There were no other Blacks in the New York office at the time. After a grueling 9 years, he received his BBA Degree May 1968. Jesse was approached to go to Quantico years before he did due to his accounting background which would have made him among the first three blacks to be sent to Quantico. He retired in June 1988 after 32 years federal service plus of military service.

Jesse, an avid skier holds life memberships in Black Ski, Inc.(DC) and Southern Snow Seekers (Atlanta) clubs. He has competed many times in downhill racing on an amateur level (NASTAR) and hold dozens first, second, and third place trophies. During early 1990’s was rated among Georgia’s top 10 men racers in his class.

He is proud Life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc; member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the FBI, NOBLE, and a Past Commander of FBI American Legion Post 56.

Former African-American Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. hosted the  Black Tie Gala to “Honor Those Among Us”, on Saturday, September 30, 2017, at the Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway.
