Beginning in January, Omicron Mu Lambda Chapter will join with Marietta Middle School in an innovative partnership, called S.T.E.M—Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M.) Program.
“The goal of this inaugural program is to provide learning opportunities for, and mentorship and recognition of, minority male students in seventh and eighth grades,” says Brother Oyd J. Craddock.
The program has three components: 1) the “STEM Gems” Project, which will expose students to project-based robotics training, to stir interest in technical careers; 2) the “Blue Devil Mentoring” Program will allow fraternity members the chance to mentor students through participation in the MMS program; and 3) the “Student Awards” Program will recognize two students with a “school memento” at the school’s year-end assembly.
